Contest Info

The theme for this Contest is 'People' - we have intentionally kept the theme open to attract a wide variety of entries. The idea of these Contests is to encourage members to get out and about with their cameras - nothing teaches faster than doing!
Judging will be by public vote to select the Top 10 images - these go forward to a Photo Judge for judging and critique - a valuable part of the contest process. This judging will be recorded and made available to Photo Club 247 members.

Eligibility

This Photo Contest is only open to current members of Photo Club 247, either Standard or PLUS membership (inc. Legacy ‘Gold Members’). If you are not a member of Photo Club 247 you can get details of joining here - prices from £36 per year or £6 per month
Directors and Employees of PhotoClub247 Ltd, or other companies/persons associated with the Contest (eg. Sponsors) are not permitted to participate.

How to Enter

Entries can ONLY be accepted via the entry form on the PhotoClub247 website. We do NOT accept entries via email.
You can submit up to 3 photographs per contest. You must complete a separate entry form for each image.
High quality scans of non-digital photographs are acceptable.
Photographs must be in .jpeg/.jpg format, at least 1920 pixels by the longest side and no larger than 3 MB.
Once uploaded, your photograph will be immediately displayed in the Contest Gallery.
Entries must be original work created solely by you. Photographs taken in group/workshop activities are not eligible for submission.
Photographs that violate or infringe upon another person's rights, including but not limited to copyright, are not eligible for submission.
Photographs that have previously won other photo contests, either online or in print, as determined by the Directors of PhotoClub247 Ltd, are not eligible for submission.
Photographs that contain sexually explicit, obscene, violent or other objectionable or inappropriate content, as determined by the Directors of PhotoClub247 Ltd, are not eligible for submission.
If your entry has a person who is recognisable, you must have their permission to use the photograph in this contest. Ideally, a model release would be required.
All entries to this Photo Contest remain the property of you, the photographer and copyright holder.
As a condition of entry, you grant PhotoClub247 Ltd permission to use the submitted photographs, royalty-free, in publicity material related ONLY to these Contests across the PhotoClub247 platform and our social media.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS NOT AN IMAGE GRAB CONTEST!!
Any additional usage of the submitted images will be negotiated and compensated appropriately.

Entry Deadlines

This contest begins on 1st May 2023. All entries must be submitted by 21st May 2023 at 11.59pm (uk time)
Photographers can edit the Title and Description of their image, or delete their entry at anytime up until the public voting begins. After this time, no changes can be made.

Prizes

There are no prizes offered for this contest. Just bragging rights for now!
Moving forward, we hope to attract Contest Sponsors who will offer prizes for winning entries.

Public Voting

Public voting for this contest will open on 14th May 2023 and close on 31st May 2023 at 11.59pm (uk time). Voting is open to everyone and voters can submit one vote per entry, but may vote for multiple entries.
You can not vote for your own entry.
Votes generated by scripts or other automated processes, obtained by any fraudulent or inappropriate means, as determined by the Directors of PhotoClub247 Ltd, will be void and the entry at issue being disqualified and the photographer banned from future contests.

Judging

Following the public vote, the Top 10 images, as voted for by the public, will be put forward for judging by an invited Photography Judge.
Images will be judged on the following criteria..

• Interpretation of the Theme - 10 points
• Technique - 15 points
• Composition - 15 points
• Lighting - 15 points
• Creativity - 15 points
• Overall Impact - 30 points
• Total Available Points - 100 points

This judging session and Photo Critique will be recorded and made available exclusively to the PhotoClub 247 members within 21 days of the Contest and public voting closing.
