An Expedition with George Robertson

Prepare to be transported to one of the most remote and awe-inspiring corners of the planet. In this upcoming webinar, we are joined by award-winning photographer and qualified Mountain Leader George Robertson for a journey into the heart of the Karakoram mountains in Northern Pakistan.

Tracing a path along the formidable Baltoro Glacier, George’s presentation offers a rare photographic record of life at high altitude. This is a region of extremes, home to four of the world’s fourteen 8,000-metre peaks – a place often referred to as the “Throne Room of the Mountain Gods.”

While the scale of the mountains is undeniable, George’s talk goes beyond traditional vistas. By blending adventure, street, and travel photography, he tells the human story of a mountaineering expedition. About George Robertson

Based in Lennoxtown, Scotland, George has been honing his craft since 1975. His dual life as a photographer and an expedition leader allows him to access wild, rugged environments that remain out of reach for most. His technical skill and eye for composition have earned him prestigious accolades, including:

• Landscape Photographer of the Year (Urban Category Winner, 2017 & 2020)
• Mountain Photo of the Year (Winner, 2024)
• Long-standing member of the Milngavie and Bearsden Camera Club
