Trekking on Africa’s highest mountain

“The Snows of Kilimanjaro” is a photographic journey onto the roof of Africa following two of the main trekking routes to the summit.

Kilimanjaro is Africa’s highest mountain at 5895m or 19,340ft. It is also the worlds highest free standing mountain and still classed as an active volcano.

George has been fortunate to summit on this mountain on multiple occasions guiding clients from a wide range of backgrounds on charity fundraising, team building and personal challenges.

The images are drawn from these trips over a period of many years. Our journey begins on the dusty plains of Tanzania and makes it way through the many varied vegetation zones on the mountain to the summit glaciers.

We follow teams approaching the mountain on two different routes experiencing the very varied vegetation and landscapes on the opposite sides of the mountain.

The talk has a mix of travel, people, flora, adventure and landscape images as we make our way up the mountain.
