Creative Photography (Part 1)

Barbie Lindsay has been taking photographs since the age of 11. She joined a camera club in her 20s and has been actively involved in photography ever since.

Starting in 1993, she began judging and lecturing, as well as entering national and international exhibitions. Her work has been widely published, including a photo featured on a phone card.
While she has a background in darkroom printing for both monochrome and colour, she transitioned to digital photography in 1997, applying her darkroom skills to her digital workflow.

Barbie photographs a wide range of subjects, from the everyday to the imagined, and currently uses a Nikon D800, a Sony RX100 III, and an iPhone 15, each suited to different purposes.

In this Creative Photography webinar, Barbie will explore various creative techniques suitable for all skill levels, from in-camera creativity to complex, multi-layered, and Photoshopped images.

The webinar is divided into two parts. Part one will showcase a variety of successful images demonstrating different techniques.

Part two will focus on the often-challenging process of finding inspiration for creative photography. (to be aired on 3rd April, 2025)

Barbie will share examples of her own creative work and explain the sources of her inspiration, encouraging viewers to explore their own creativity.
