Webinar number 223 - First broadcast on Thursday 27th November, 2025
Webinar hosted by Paul Crawford and featuring guest Laura Drury
Tags: Abstract, Editing, ICM, Multiple Exposures
We are delighted to welcome Laura Drury to our weekly webinars.
Not all of us can travel the world in search of iconic, awe-inspiring images – like snow monkeys in Japan or a Himalayan sunrise.
Instead, most of us must learn to find beauty in the familiar, the everyday, and the landscapes just outside our own front door.
In this talk, Laura shares a personal journey of creativity rooted close to home and shaped by her love of colour. Every image she presents was taken within a 20-mile radius of her home in Kent – proving that you don’t need a passport or a plane ticket to create powerful, original work.
Laura also speaks candidly about the process of discovering her own photographic style, using techniques such as ICM (Intentional Camera Movement) and Multiple Exposure to craft impressionist-style images.
She explains how embracing this approach gave her the confidence to begin sharing her work more publicly.
In addition, Laura offers valuable insights into how she prepares for exhibitions – from curating and sequencing to managing logistics – and shares the key lessons she’s learned along the way.
