Ken Scott Joy of Seeing Interview

An Introduction to Photography and Mindfulness

Photography is all about seeing. Most of us go through everyday life not noticing very much at all. Our minds are tuned this way: to notice novelty at the expense of the familiar; to make conscious what is important for survival; to filter out based on our likes and dislikes and values. We also tend to get stuck with concerns of past or future and are distracted from the present moment, which is all there is. In this Interview, Ken discusses strategies for suspending judgement, for identifying and clearing barriers to seeing, so that we can see more freely and expansively, appreciate the world with fresh eyes, find the ‘Magic in the Mundane’.
