Webinar hosted by Paul Crawford and featuring guest Fuat Baran
In this talk Fuat will define what self-portraits and selfies are, discuss the history of this endeavor, and show examples from famous self-portraitists throughout history.
He will discuss the motivation for making self-portraits, go over tools and techniques, and illustrate the concepts with many of his own self-portrait photographs.
Fuat is the president of the Westchester Photographic Society and vice president of the Riverdale Art Association. For the past 13 years Fuat has been taking one photo each day and posting them online as part of a community of “Project 365” photographers on Flickr.
He also participates in weekly macro photography challenges on Flickr and recently has combined his interests in abstract photography, macro photography, and acrylic painting into a project to make extreme close-up images of paint and textures on canvas.
