Your next lens – the Nifty Fifty!
In a lesson of my course, Get More from Your Camera, I talk about which lens you should buy next.
Your DSLR usually comes with a kit lens, which is great but has its limitations.
The next lens you should buy really depends on the style and type of photographs you want to take. No point buy a super-telephoto lens to take pictures of the kids in the back garden!
A great next lens which has a variety of uses is the Nifty Fifty – a 50mm prime lens – a fantastic lens for portraits and low light situations as it has a much larger maximum aperture than your kit lens.
Nikon 50mm f1.8 G
Make sure you get the “G” version of this lens – there are still some “D” versions to be found on eBay but many of the autofocus functions wont work on the modern cameras.
